The Brunswick Historical Society is dedicated to discovering, collecting, and preserving the rich history of Brunswick and Rensselaer County. Founded by community members in the 1970s and officially chartered in 1981, the Society now operates from the historic Garfield School, where it maintains archives, photographs, artifacts, and other materials essential to understanding the area’s past.
As a nonprofit educational organization, the Brunswick Historical Society promotes the preservation of historic buildings, cemeteries, monuments, and markers, while offering programs, research resources, and educational activities that make local history accessible and engaging to the public.
